The 2025 IBSA Goalball Americas Championships has officially kicked off, uniting the top men’s and women’s goalball teams from across the continent. With 12 men’s teams and 11 women’s teams and a total of 132 athletes, the event highlights the growing momentum behind blind sports in the Americas.

In recent years, interest in goalball has been steadily increasing throughout the region. From grassroots programs to national team development, countries are investing more in blind sport infrastructure and athlete opportunities. Goalball, in particular, continues to stand out for its intensity, inclusivity, and passionate following.
